Who knows what, when
The knowledge ledger’s certainty scale and its hard invariants: one principal held at zero for the whole book, and any line above a character’s ceiling logged as a leak.
· principles 2, 4 of twelve
What it shows
Principle two, for what characters know. The knowledge ledger tracks certainty on a five-point scale, separately from what a character may reveal on the page, and it carries hard invariants: one principal held at zero for the entire book. Any line that exposed more than a character’s ceiling was a logged leak. Who holds certainty four is withheld here.
The principles are numbered on the method page. Cuts in the excerpts below are marked with an ellipsis in brackets; the three kinds of cut are stated on the record’s front page.

## Certainty scale - **0 — Unaware:** has no notion of it. - **1 — Ambient:** has encountered traces but attaches no meaning. - **2 — Suspicious:** senses a pattern; could still be coincidence (deniable). - **3 — Convinced (unproven):** believes it but cannot prove it. - **4 — Confirmed:** holds proof that cannot be explained away. > **The reader's certainty tracks close to Luca's and NEVER outruns him on the central secret > (Secret 1) before Ch 29.** The late reveal is the moment Luca (and the reader) move 3 → 4, > split: fact at Ch 29, meaning at Ch 30. --- […] 5. Hard invariants: **Allegra = 0 throughout; Okonkwo ≤ 2; Vespa ≤ 1.** The rumor claims are never fact for anyone. ```
